Lost within myself
When I look at my own reflection
it seems that I am no longer there
along the way I probably got lost
and stayed hidden in a place, somewhere
I feel safe and can defend myself
against the pain and cruelty
that threaten me on every day
and almost take away my sanity
I must learn to face the world
with all it's threatening fears
and believe in the strength within myself
although it's hard to hear
my inner voice that cries out loud
and says I've got to change
before I will be forever lost
in a world that to me is strange
